Foundations and Frontiers (FF24) is drawing attention to the financial health of the construction industry today releasing its third paper to inform discussions at the Forum this August.

Recent reports show the industry is struggling financially, which is a real concern given its crucial role in the economy.

“This financial crisis is not limited to one part of the industry, it is across all sectors and throughout the supply chain,” said Australian Constructors Association CEO Jon Davies.

“The industry’s poor financial returns make it difficult for construction companies to invest in new technology, reduce carbon emissions and train new workers.

“Financial stress also leads to a negative work environment, resulting in more people leaving the industry than joining and higher rates of worker suicides.

“Now is the time to act. Improving the financial stability of the construction industry is crucial for innovation, attracting new talent and ensuring a sustainable future.”

FF24 invites everyone interested in the construction industry to join the conversation and share their ideas. You can submit your thoughts in writing through the Foundations and Frontiers website at www.foundationsandfrontiers.com.au/movement by 3 pm on Friday 5 July 2024.
