With Multiplex’s Queen’s Wharf site in Brisbane now a sea of cranes, the busy work environment provided a fantastic opportunity for a group of young people to see what it is like to work in construction first-hand.
In partnership with CSQ – Construction Skills Queensland, Multiplex recently hosted a Skills Onsite Day to raise awareness about skills and trades that go into building construction.
More than 45 young adults from yourtown, ARTIE Academy, Beenleigh Housing and Development Company and Project Booyah got hands-on with various skill and trade areas at the site.
Training Manager Jodie Trousdell said Multiplex is proud to support training initiatives that provide opportunities for young adults to connect with the industry.
“Skills Onsite Day engages and connects people – giving them a real taste of what it’s like to work in construction,” said Jodie.
“Multiplex is a great supporter of these training initiatives which give back, and provide meaningful skills training for young adults in our community.”
